Traditional, Victorian & Designer Cast Iron Radiators

The Old Radiator Company, which covers all parts of the country but local to Surrey, Sussex and London areas, continues to have a large selection of cast iron radiators on display and is open 5 days a week with weekends available by appointment. We deliver to you in our own transport to any part of the country and can arrange a courier for worldwide deliveries.

Our Radiators

Our ever-changing stock of around 3000 antique cast iron radiators is, to our knowledge, the largest in the UK and covers many radiator styles from 1850 to 1980.

We specialise in the specification, restoration, refurbishment and bespoke supply of original cast iron radiators with historical integrity at the core of our business. A radiator from The Old Radiator Company is supplied tested and fitted with metric pipe fittings enabling our original cast iron radiators to be plumbed directly into modern central heating systems.

In Expert Hands

With over twenty years of experience, shared alongside our sister company Castrads, we’ve honed the art of restoring and supplying original radiators. Our journey began in the 1990s within architectural salvage, and since then, we’ve built an unmatched expertise in researching and reviving cast iron radiators, uncovering the history behind each piece.

Many of the radiators we restore are approaching a century old, each carrying its own unique story. Some originate from New York’s lavish Gilded Age of the late 1800s, while others predate the invention of the telephone.

As the market leader in original radiators, our collection and restoration process are second to none. Your vintage radiators are in expert hands.

Radiator Restoration

Victorian radiators can be fully restored to work with modern heating systems, including thermostatic valves, heat pumps, and biomass boilers. Restoration starts from £350 for smaller radiators and £600 for larger ones.

We can integrate energy-saving controls, often without requiring new pipework, ensuring easy reinstallation. Our collection and redelivery service is hassle-free, and our support team is here to assist.

How will my radiator be delivered?

Depending on your location, delivery will be either a kerbside pallet service—requiring two people on site to carry the radiators into the property—or a premium service where we place each radiator in your chosen room. Kerbside delivery costs £125 per pallet + VAT. The number of radiators per pallet depends on their size and quantity.

Do you buy old radiators?

How do you restore the reclaimed radiators?

We begin by removing old fittings and thoroughly flushing the radiator. It is then sandblasted to remove any rust or paint. We fit new reducing bushes (for modern valves, if needed), pressure test to 8 bars (standard heating systems run at around 2 bars), and ensure all seals are secure. Finally, we either spray-paint or hand-polish the radiator, depending on your preference.
